After last week's impressive win against Siddal, Sam Butterworth takes his team on the road this weekend with a trip to Castleford where they take on Castleford Lock Lane on Saturday 16 March.
Lane were on the wrong end of 34 points last week away at in-form Hunslet but prior to that they have had a good pre season. Mayfield will be looking to start where they left off, after a slow start, some massive improvements saw them play some great rugby to blow Siddal away.

Lane will be a similar side to Siddal, with a big robust pack and industrious halves. If they are to get anything from this game Mayfield will have to match and even best the forwards while snuffing out the creativity from the backs. There is no doubt that Butterworth's side have the players to do this, just as long as they perform on the day.
Andy Reed and Craig White were happy with their team's performance last week as they put a spirited Waterhead side to the sword. This was a tough game, as you would expect in a local derby match. The young Mayfield side though had too much for the visitors and eventually ran out comfortable winners. Tries came from Connelly, Chappel, Webster and Ravenscroft with three goals from Nathan Coop.
With a cry off from their original opposition, Wigan Spring View, Mayfield are trying desperately to arrange a friendly to jeep the momentum going. Players are advised to check with Reedy and all social media.
